This is a gorgeous collection of materials that will spark interest and the independence for the child who is preparing the microgreen seeds.
A silver, chrome finish tray adds elegance and value.
A small scale in grams allows for easy reading by the child.
A small watering can helps to focus the child by slowing their actions.
Tiny jars and strainers help the child prepare the seeds for planting.
A spoon fits perfectly in the small containers yet holds plenty of seeds.
Probably one of the most delightful qualities of this set of Montessori materials is just how beautifully one can integrate purpose and work into our standard Montessori practical life exercises. Spooning, for example, is purposeful first by the child developing their skill in controlling movement and and developing their will, but when you layer this activity over a simple cycle of life, you draw in the depths of nature and life on earth.
Seed Jars
Our seed jars are small, easily opened, glass jars that invite the child to slow down, with the small opening, while discouraging over-planting.
Seed Strainer Tray
This simple plastic tray holds six of the seed strainers perfectly.
Spoon
This spoon fits in the small seed jars as well as really holding the seeds in its round ball shape of the scoop.
Small Watering Can
This little stainless steel watering can prevents over watering and spilling from the top with the covered edge.

The first step in setting up a NatureTot System is to decide between two products:
- Purchase one of two products:
· The Full NatureTot System: where everything is provided for you, including cabinets, curated materials and the online Masterclass
OR
· NatureTot System Masterclass: an online training course providing guidance on what materials and exercises are needed to integrate a simple cycle of life in your class.
- Once you have made either purchase, you are given access to any of our other products. You are also enrolled as a member of the NatureTot Community. This allows you to purchase any of our products at anytime.
- After your free community membership expires (3 or 6 months, depending on your purchase) you continue to get access to the course, community and products by maintaining your membership in the NatureTot Community for $9US/month.
The products are compatible with each other and will work on the Full NatureTot System, so you could build your system up over years. Happy building!
Montessori education does not have “pre-packaged” educational materials…so why do you say “classroom-ready’ or ‘system’?
This is not a packaged educational product where the child must do a specific activity according to a preset timetable! It is a ‘set of tools’ to simplify set-up and maintenance within the classroom. It is a ‘system of nature’ that the Montessori guide can successfully bring into their prepared environment. It works because the primary child is interested in repetition, in refining their movements, and in practicing these exercises. The activities that maintain the system are also those that are developmentally appropriate for children of this age. Essential for its success (independence and freedom) is a large community of children. It is the community that maintains the cycle, not the individual child. Indeed, this leads to a beautiful and quite extraordinary community.
How much work will be required of me if this is in my classroom?
You will need to devote some time to learn the system when it is first introduced to your classroom. However, once it is established, it will require only basic daily maintenance just as with any other material in your prepared environment. We offer tips and guidance on a daily checklist to help simplify this process for you and your assistants as much as possible. The benefits for the children and the happiness in your classroom will many times over balance the work you put into integrating this into your casa environment.

Interest and independence
This beautiful set will delight the child and guide. It is simple but challenging. The older child who has been spooning in the prepared environment will once again find interest and challenge in this activity. The basis for independence is interest. This set will indeed generate interest. And as one of the first steps in the growth stages of a microgreen it is an essential element in the life cycle, giving purpose and meaning to the work in the prepared environment.
